As you may not know, photography is my passion, but film making is my dream. I am a film major in school and aspire to move out to Los Angeles in the near future to try and break into the business. I recently finished my first major short film, which I wrote, cast, directed and edited. My film made it into the very selective Media Collision film festival at Ramapo College, after being judged by an impartial jury of New York City film makers with no association to the college. To top it off, after the event I was presented with the Achievement In Writing award for the script to the following film, Minor Transaction. The jury included the following comment...
"F***ing hysterical. This film truly commited to its outrageous premise and brought a sense of realness to a ridiculous situation, without going overboard. The revelations came at just the right moments, and the jokes felt organic rather than forced on the story. Not for everyone, but a difficult and complex tone handled nicely in the writing."
I have the film available for anyone to watch on vimeo.com, or right here below. Like the review said, it is not for everyone and may offend some audiences. I don't think it's a great film, but I'm amazed simply by the fact that a funny idea I had a year ago is now a real-life viewable film. I hope you enjoy it.
